Wallace Still Ticking After Heart Surgery
Legendary 60 Minutes man Mike Wallace is on the mend after a bit of ticker trouble.
The iconic TV journalist is recovering nicely after triple heart bypass surgery late last week, according to a network rep.
"Mike...has already taken his first steps after bypass surgery late last week that his doctors say was his great success," CBS spokesman Kevin Tedesco told E! Online.
Wallace, who turns 90 in May, will take about six weeks of R&R, the time it generally takes to rebound from such an intensive operation.
Although he officially announced his retirement from 60 Minutes in March 2006, after 37 years of grilling world leaders and cultural figures, winning 20 Emmys and just about every single journo award in the process, Wallace continues to file segmets as a "correspondent emeritus."
Before having a heart to heart with himself, Wallace recently conducted a one-on-one with Roger Clemens regarding accusations that the baseball great had taken steroids.
